Restat requires alarms permission to reset the user’s Upwork bids or LinkedIn connections counter to 0 on each day precisely at 12:00 AM in the morning ensuring that users always see accurate and up-to-date information about the bids. Also, It eliminates the need for manual resets, which could lead to user frustration or errors in data tracking.

The alarms permission allows us to schedule this reset in a way that minimizes resource consumption. Instead of running background scripts constantly or relying on external triggers, the alarm ensures that the API call is made exactly once per day.

This not only improves the performance of the extension but also reduces unnecessary API calls, which is both cost-effective and environmentally friendly.

Restat requests host permissions for all URLs’ to enable its functionality across various domains necessary for tracking, measuring, and analyzing business development activities.
